BCWH, a local firm of Richmond, Virginia, is very humbled and excited to announce that we have won a national design award from the American Institute of Architects (AIA) and American Library Association (ALA) for the Varina Area Library in Henrico County, VA completed in June of 2016.
The Library was one of eight American and European libraries to receive this year’s prestigious Library Building Award. It was designed by BCWH in collaboration with Tappé Architects in Boston, MA. While the Library’s form borrows from the area’s historic tobacco barns, it is innovative in both design and the use of technology within the Library suiting the needs of current and future patrons.
