Homegrown businesses are a vital part of the Richmond area’s economic growth and need more support, the leader of the Virginia Biotechnology Research Park said Thursday to members of one organization that mentors entrepreneurs and small businesses in the region.
“If we are to move forward, we are going to have to create more companies,” said Carrie Roth, president and CEO of the commercial park in downtown Richmond that is home to more than 60 companies with a total of about 2,400 employees.
