Public Review Open Until September 16 

Richmond, VA— ConnectRVA 2045, the draft long-range transportation plan that will guide the Richmond region’s transportation investments over the next 20 years, is now available for public review. 

The Richmond Regional Transportation Planning Organization (RRTPO), supported by PlanRVA, is offering virtual and in-person opportunities to review the draft plan and provide feedback from August 16 to September 15, 2021. 

Members of the public are invited to sign up to Connect with an Expert online on ConnectRVA2045.org or attend a Connect with an Expert session in person: 

  • September 14 from 6 to 8 p.m., Fairfield Area Library , 1401 N Laburnum Ave , Richmond, VA 23223 

Meeting dates and locations will be published online and advertised in local newspapers. 

Based on information gathered during public comment periods over the past two years, ConnectRVA 2045 identifies more than 200 regional projects to support the growth of the Richmond Region. Planned improvements include: 

  • Completion of the Fall Line from Ashland all the way through Chesterfield County 
  • New transit centers, park and rides, and dedicated lanes for buses 
  • New regional bike paths connecting with existing bike trails, bus stops, and rail stations 
  • Bridge replacements 
  • Highway maintenance and intersection enhancements 

ConnectRVA 2045 considers major issues across the entire Richmond Region that need to be addressed in the long term and works to find realistic and equitable ways to make projects happen that will improve safety, reliability, and access for all. 

The Richmond Regional Transportation Planning Organization (RRTPO) coordinates transportation plans and policies as the Metropolitan Planning Organization for the Richmond region. The RRTPO is supported through a Memorandum of Understanding for staff support services by PlanRVA.
