The Richmond Region Speaks for Itself: Campaign Launch!
It’s official! Richmond Region Tourism is launching a new, multi-channel $2 million marketing campaign to inspire travel to our world-class destination and to local attractions, hotels, restaurants, and other businesses.  The year-long campaign, running through June 2024, marks a historic opportunity for Richmond Region Tourism to invest more than double its normal budget for one marketing campaign, thanks to American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funding given to our jurisdictions to bolster visitation following the Covid-19 pandemic.

“Speaks for Itself” is a first-of-its-kind campaign for the Richmond Region, targeting potential travelers in East Coast and southern U.S. drive and fly markets through an unconventional, sound-focused video approach centered around the authentic character of our destination.

The campaign was developed by Padilla, a Richmond-based creative agency, that was selected by Richmond Region Tourism in partnership with ChamberRVA and the Greater Richmond Partnership. Our goal was to differentiate this campaign from others in our industry and to be flexible enough for our stakeholders to incorporate it into their marketing efforts.

The campaign video takes inspiration from popular ASMR content on social media to communicate what it’s like for visitors to experience the Richmond Region – a destination marked by an understated authenticity that even we, the locals, find hard to define.
