ChamberRVA partnered with the Hampton Roads Chamber this week for a two-day advocacy trip to Washington, D.C., bringing a united voice from across the Commonwealth to our congressional delegation.
The trip kicked off Monday evening with a group dinner, giving members from both chambers a chance to connect and align on shared legislative priorities ahead of a busy day on the Hill.
Tuesday started early and stayed busy:
- Morning meetings: The group met first with Senator Kaine, followed by a joint session with Senator Warner’s staff, spotlighting how Richmond and Hampton Roads are stronger together when it comes to the economic health of Virginia.
- Midday insights: A luncheon and presentation hosted by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce offered a broader look at national priorities.
- Delegation visits: In the afternoon, the group split up to meet with their respective delegations. ChamberRVA connected with Congressmembers McClellan, Wittman, and McGuire, sharing member priorities and fielding strong interest in ChamberRVA programs, particularly workforce development initiatives.
None of this happens without the people who show up. Thank you to everyone who participated and supported this trip, with a special shoutout to McGuireWoods Consulting for their continued partnership. Advocacy is a key pillar of ChamberRVA’s mission, and your participation is vital to the success of our region.
