Virginia Learns brings together business and education leaders with the shared goal of creating a more innovative, relevant, and equitable public education system in Virginia.
Today, we are asking for your help in moving this work forward by sharing your expertise with us. We are starting a process to develop a suite of assessment, credential, and training tools to ensure that students are prepared for future success and business has access to the talent they need.
You are invited to an upcoming conversation about what our Virginia education system calls the  5Cs. The “Five C’s” are foundational principles developed by the Virginia Department of Education that help students meet the demands and expectations of modern society. They include critical thinking, creative thinking, communication, collaboration, and citizenship skills. These skills are also known to some of our national partners as Durable Skills.
In partnership with America Succeeds, CompTIA and Common Group, we are working to create a common lexicon for this skillset – effectively, a rubric that will assist employers, educators, and young people in aligning with the Durable Skills required to succeed in the modern workplace across the country.
This exclusive event includes business leaders and other key stakeholders from across Virginia, and I believe your perspective would be a valuable addition to the conversation.
