The 2nd Street Festival returns this fall, Saturday-Sunday, October 3-4, marking its 38th anniversary year. The FREE festival celebrates the rich culture of Downtown Richmond’s historic Jackson Ward neighborhood. Produced by Venture Richmond Events, the 2nd Street Festival is an annual celebration over two days that features three stages of live music and entertainment.
Each year, thousands visit historic Jackson Ward to reminisce about the days when 2nd Street was the heart and soul of Richmond’s African American community and was known as “the Harlem of the South.” Today, Jackson Ward continues to be a thriving neighborhood and community.
Showcasing a Kidz Zone, popular local food vendors, and a marketplace and Artists Row to shop, the 2nd Street Festival is an annual homecoming for the community. Back by popular demand is the Richmond Metropolitan Antique Car Club. And SheJeepsRVA will again have elaborate Jeeps on Leigh Street next to the Maggie L Walker National Historic Site on Saturday.
Due to unforeseen circumstances, DJ Jazzy Jeff has withdrawn from this year’s 2nd Street Festival, however, we are excited to announce that acclaimed R&B artist Stokley will headline the Main Stage on Saturday, October 3.
