Keiter Launches Transaction Advisory Group
August 7, 2017 – Glen Allen, Virginia – Keiter, the largest, independent CPA firm in Central Virginia, announces that it has formed a new transaction advisory group serving lower middle market companies in the Greater Richmond region. Keiter Transaction Advisory Services brings together the resources that Keiter has undertaken over the past 30+ years through its merger & acquisition, valuation, quality of earnings, due diligence, succession planning, and tax structuring service teams and through Keiter Stephens Advisors (KSA), a wholly-owned subsidiary focusing on the foodservice distribution industry. Recent talent additions, Jim McGrath and Matt Austin, will also lend their respective expertise to this group. This formation ensures that clients will have access to the best possible advisors who will take a holistic approach to M&A transactions.

James H. McGrath, J.D. will serve as Managing Director of Keiter Transaction Advisory Services. Jim joins Keiter with over 17 years of corporate finance experience advising middle market companies and private equity groups, including broad experience in mergers and acquisitions, private equity and debt placements, and bank financings. His merger and acquisition transactions span business and technology services, healthcare, energy, and specialty manufacturing. Prior to joining Keiter, Jim was with KPMG Corporate Finance, LLC, an international middle market-focused investment bank, and Ewing Bemiss & Co., a boutique investment banking firm. He also has a J.D. and was a corporate/M&A lawyer at Hogan & Lovells LLP and Hunton & Williams, both global firms, before beginning his corporate finance career.
Matthew L. Austin, joins Keiter Stephens Advisors as a Director with significant M&A, transaction, and analytics experience. Prior to joining KSA, Matt was with BB&T Capital Markets, Virginia Capital Partners, LLC, and NewMarket Corporation.
In addition to Jim and Matt, Carroll Hurst and Scott Zickefoose will be actively involved in service delivery for this group. Keiter has participated in over 250 M&A engagements, including the areas of valuation, due diligence, succession planning, and tax structuring.
