“It is with no surprise that Altria Theater continues to rank a world-wide, top performing theatrical venue,” said Altria Theater General Manager, Glenn Major. “The appetite for live entertainment in the Greater Richmond Region has held steady following the pandemic, and we continue to meet that appetite by presenting top-tier, national touring acts in partnership with our promoters.”

From mid-November through mid-February, the venue hosted 33 performances across the comedy, concert, family entertainment, and Broadway genres. Highlights for the quarter included sold-out performances by Jim Gaffigan, ranking #32 on the Top 100 Worldwide Tours chart for Q1, 2 sold-out performances by Jerry Seinfeld, and the return of Hairspray and The Book of Mormon during the Broadway in Richmond season. Multiple music acts also took the stage, including Harry Connick, Jr., and Mannheim Steamroller. The venue also hosted the return of Katt Williams, Hip Hop Nutcracker, and Dancing with the Stars Live.

“Our calendar is filled to the brim with performances across all genres in 2023,” said Major. “We are thankful to our community for supporting the growth of the venue, and we look forward to welcoming patrons through our doors time and time again.”
