Richmond, VA – ChamberRVA is pleased to congratulate the winners of The Icons and YP Workplace Awards. The Icons and YP Workplace awards recognize career bold young professionals and the organizations that support them. Selected from a pool of 12 finalists by a committee of business and community leaders, the winners were announced at an event on April 28th at the Westin Hotel following a keynote address by Mark Fernandes, Chief Leadership officer at Luck Companies.
“This marks the second year we have honored individual young professionals who are setting themselves apart among their peers,” said Kim Scheeler, President & CEO of ChamberRVA. “It is hard to believe that this is the ninth year of honoring the amazing workplaces that show extraordinary support for young professionals with our YP Workplace awards. These exceptional employers are a big part of what makes RVA an incredible place for young professionals to live.”
Individual nominations for The Icons were accepted in two categories, Change Agent and Front Runner. Nominees were required to be age 35 or younger. Nominations for the YP Workplace Awards were accepted in two categories: small business and large business.

The 2016 young professionals award winners are:

CHANGE AGENT
The Change Agent is a young professional who is imaginative in his or her approach to identifying new avenues of thought and action in the workplace. He or she embraces innovation and creativity as drivers to making positive changes.

Sarah Mullens – Co-Founder, UnBoundRVA
Sarah is the co-founder of Unbound RVA, a non-profit focused on providing social mobility through entrepreneurship. Her organization already has helped dozens of individuals since inception only a couple years ago.

FRONT RUNNER
The Front Runner is a young professional who is a driver and pacesetter in his or her workplace. A Front Runner’s approach to leadership is one that draws strength from his or her core values, self-awareness and the ability to ignite the potential in others.

Natalie Garramone – CEO, The Frontier Project
When Natalie first started at The Frontier Project five years ago, she had no idea she would one day become its CEO. She has proven her value at The Frontier Project by helping Fortune 500 clients enter markets they had never before considered.

YP WORKPLACE
The 9th annual YP Workplace Awards honor workplaces that are helping to attract, retain and develop the region’s young profiessionals. ChamberRVA announces one winner in each of the following two categories:

Small Business:
