In partnership with ChamberRVA and the Chesterfield Chamber of Commerce, the ‘State of the County’ will highlight a year of great change and growth
Chesterfield County Administrator Dr. Joseph “Joe” P. Casey will deliver the ‘State of the County’ address before a virtual live audience at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 9. Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the event will be completely virtual this year – allowing the public to view the address remotely.
The ‘State of the County’ presentation will be broadcasted live on the county’s main Facebook and YouTube pages, and on WCCT Chesterfield Community Television, Comcast channel 98 and Verizon channel 28.
In partnership with the Chesterfield Chamber of Commerce and ChamberRVA, the ‘State of the County’ event provides an update on the state of Chesterfield’s economic indicators, county budget, business development plans and an overall vision for the county’s future.
Chesterfield is ending the year on a high note with a $54 million surplus, thus prompting the Board of Supervisors to amend the FY 21 budget due to a combination of cost saving measures, higher sales tax revenue and accelerated residential growth.
The additional revenue will also allow the county to make several investments to its workforce that include nearly $14 million to address public safety pay – the largest investment to public safety in the county’s history.
